Before & After Photos of My Storage Room Overhaul
Ta-daaaaaa!!!!
I finished cleaning out my main basement storage room, and it feels so good. It’s like a hug when we walk through there now.
My goal is to get each room of our house decluttered, getting rid of everything we don’t need, in time to sell our house this spring. You see, we are moving yet again.
First, here are the “before photos”, which I blogged about here.
Labeling was starting to get time consuming.
Labeling storage boxes is beyond important, but my label maker is really a little printer, and it just is not quick at all really. That’s why I mostly ended up using post-it notes again. That is not perfect at all because post-it notes fall off when you move the boxes around, and hello, we are planning to move.
So my plan is to use packing tape to cover all the post-it notes, at least until I get a quicker more efficient label maker.
I made a whole video about the labeling.
And now for the AFTERS….
I cleaned, re-labeled, packed stuff up for Goodwill, and trashed a few things too. All total I filled up the equivalent of three garbage bags of Goodwill donations and at least two trash bags of trash. I’m always dismayed to find how much pure trash I’ve been keeping.
Hurray for the happier, more tidy room!!!
And I made a short video tour because I was oddly excited about this.
It’s a good thing I have some room left because I may be moving some things from other storage rooms into this one. We’ll see. I haven’t made all the decisions yet.
It feels so amazing to have this done. Now onto my other storage room…..and it’s so much worse…
