The Whole Truth About Moving Stress & Anxiety

This is my whole truth about coping with moving stress. I am not doing an amazing job. No, I am not even doing a good job, not even a decent job. In fact, let’s be real. I am at a fairly low point. Notice I did not title this article “how to handle moving stress.” That was on purpose. I would have no business writing that. Why am I so stressed? I don’t fully know. As a whole, this move, which started out extremely shaky, is going MUCH better now. Finding a house was a nightmare. But that’s done. We […]

How to Have a Successful Personal Monthly Planning Session

This is another one of my FAVORITE new ways I have found this year to truly feel like I am getting my act together: the monthly planning session. I originally called it my monthly meeting with myself. But to sound more sane, we will just say “monthly planning session.” The idea of setting aside time to do a monthly planning session is another tip I learned from vishakablone.com. What do I mean by personal monthly planning session? I’m glad you asked. This is a time during the first week of the month where we plan out the whole month that […]

Check Out our Full House Declutter Reveal

If you are not new here, you know 2022 has been all about getting my house decluttered for the upcoming move. With six people in the house, we obviously can fill up any space with all kinds of clutter. Well, now it’s time to sell the house, and no one wants to buy a house that looks all cramped. After months and months of work, we managed to get two of the three floors looking spacious, clean, and fabulous. Then we took all the extra stuff and shoved it in the basement storage rooms. Sigh. Yeah, those storage rooms I […]

Master Bedroom Update: Getting The House Ready To Sell

We have been busy little bees getting our house ready to sell. This week we finished the master bedroom, and we moved on to working on all of the other rooms. I have so many moving updates! #1. We officially have a lease signed in the exact neighborhood we wanted to live in to be near our friends. Hurray!!!! The house has four bedrooms, a beautiful backyard, two family rooms, and a pretty good kitchen, so we are happy, happy, happy. It has much smaller storage spaces than we are used to, so now I have to go a little […]

A New, Fun Life Hack: The Monthly Reflection

This is a new habit I am adding in this year: the end of month reflection. I was surfing Pinterest last week, while I had all that time in bed with covid. Of course, it is Pinterest, so I found tons of cool things and new blogs to read. Side note: Did you know almost all of Pinterest is blog posts? Yep. It’s the number one place to search out blog posts on any topic. When there’s something you need help with, Pinterest and YouTube are the places to be. It’s just important to take all those perfectionist Pinterest images […]

What Covid was Like at Our House in May 2022

I say “what covid WAS like at our house” loosely. The fact is that it is still IN our house. Today is the 3rd Sunday since we found out we were sharing our home with the Rona. Our family gets sick regularly from various cold viruses, but we always test negative. So when I hear sniffles in my house, testing for covid was not even my first thought or response anymore. It was more like an afterthought. My oldest son’s sniffles began the Friday before Mother’s Day. No one paid it much attention. By Saturday morning, he was like, “Yeah, […]

Moving Checklist For The Perfect Move, 2 Months Out

Now, ya’ll, I say this with love because this IS a moving checklist for the perfect move. However, it is so important that you accept up front that the perfect move will never ever happen. So no, moves aren’t perfect. However, you never know what it is that will go wrong, so you always plan for perfection. The plan and the checklist are for the (laughably) perfect move. Just for your sanity, remember that it won’t actually be perfect. We are just going to hope that whatever goes wrong will at least be funny. Our family is currently 60-80 days […]

Township Game Review: Addictive, Easy, and Family Friendly

Honest Township Game Review Upfront: This game is probably my favorite app on my phone. Township is fun, easy, and family friendly. You can play it while watching t.v., talking on the phone, and hanging out with family. Your whole family can download it and create a co-op together. I love this app. But Township can be addictive. For me. My children all played for a year and quit without a second thought, but I find it very addictive. In truth, I have several apps that were too addictive for me, so maybe this is a personal problem. But this […]
