Day 13 Decluttering Challenge: 27 Fling Boogie for Your Desk

Welcome back to the 30 Day Decluttering Challenge! I hope y’all are having fun with this.

Today we are doing a 27 Fling Boogie on our desk, or home office work space. Wherever you sit and do your computer work or pay your bills, that is where we want to focus.

I wrote about this at greater length before. You can find that here.

Today we are going to do that same task, but we are going to do our 27 Fling Boogie slightly differently. In my previous post, we put everything in one bag and sorted it at the end. This time we are sorting trash, give away, take to another room, and recycle, as we go. That way there is less work to do at the end.

How you do your decluttering is up to you. There are many ways to declutter. The key is just that you do it, and you find a way to make it fun for you.

I did not go for perfection here. Also notice, I did not turn my desk upside down and empty everything and then start going through the things.

That is not what I recommend unless you only have a few things to sort through. If you have as much stuff as I do, dumping it out will be a motivation killer after about twenty minutes. Then you have a giant mess on your hands.

Instead of dumping out your desk, just go through the top first, one thing at a time. If you finish that and haven’t gotten to twenty-seven items decluttered, then go through the cabinets or drawers in your desk.

Then when you are finished, you automatically have a tidier looking desk, instead of a piled up mess to finish later. That is why I don’t recommend dumping everything out.

Here’s my own desk decluttering time for day thirteen:

Thanks for joining me, y’all! I hope to see you tomorrow for day fourteen, decluttering your kid’s room for fifteen minutes.

I love comments! Otherwise, it's really just me talking to myself.
